Mar 22 – DID YOU KNOW…
You must ensure that all your away scores are recorded at your home club. Usually for singles competitions this will happen electronically and automatically via Golfnet and it is a player’s responsibility to ensure that the score has been transmitted correctly.
If you play at an away venue in a golf society, team classic, four-ball, foursomes or any other form of non-qualifying competition, you must report all scores to your home club.
You can also notify your home club of an away score by filling in the Away Score Sheet, which is usually located in the clubhouse. You could also take a picture of your scorecard through your phone and send it by email or text message to the club handicap committee.   [GUI]

Mar 2 – MEMBERS:    If you don’t have a ‘c’ after your handicap (e.g. 16c) you do not have a competitive handicap. This has happened because you did not play three qualifying competitions last year.  You can check your handicap in the Gent’s changing rooms on the computer.  Also the “c” is displayed on your scorecard next to your handicap when you swipe in.  If you played three qualifying competitions last year this doesn’t apply to you as your handicap will display the “c” .   This is a new amendment from CONGU from January 2017.   At home you will not be able to win a prize in the Tuesday Singles which commence on March 7th or any club competition after St. Patrick’s day (excluding the winter league Sundays) until you have reinstated your handicap as competitive.   Open competitions you play away will also recognise this and therefore not accept your handicap without the “c”.  To re-instate your handicap to competitive status you must play in three qualifying competitions.   They must be complete rounds.  [Competitions]

Feb 10 – SENIORS:   Any member over 60 years, interested in representing the Club in Senior Competitions in 2017, please put your name and contact no. on the Sheet on the Senior Notice Board in the Gent’s Locker Room Lobby.   [Kevin Maguire/Michael Mallie]
