Welcome to

Greenore Golf Club

Greenore Golf Club, located at the tip of the Cooley Peninsula, boasts a stunning coastal setting along Carlingford Lough, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Conveniently situated 100km (60 miles) from both Dublin and Belfast international airports, the club is just a five-minute drive from the charming medieval village of Carlingford, home to excellent restaurants and accommodations, including the 4-star Four Seasons Hotel & Leisure Centre.
The course itself is a gem, stretching along Carlingford Lough beneath the historic railway embankment, framed by Slieve Foy and the Mourne Mountains. It offers a unique blend of traditional links and heathland terrain, with fairways bordered by golden gorse on one side and the waters of Carlingford Lough on the other—a stunning but challenging combination for those who stray from the fairway. The fast, often small greens demand precision, testing players' mastery of the bump-and-run in the summer and high, soft approaches in the winter.

Testimonials

"A wee gem of a golf course, was meant to play a different course which we had played before, until someone told us about this course. Not one person from our party of 4 had ever heard of the place never mind the golf course. We will be back without doubt"
"Arrived to play golf, had scone and coffee. Played 18 holes over a beautiful course with stunning views to Mournes and Carlingford Lough. Staff very friendly as were fellow golfers. Had dinner. Service and food very good"
"My husband and I played this course in early September. What a treat! The course is interesting and challenging. The views are no less than spectacular! Had a lovely bite to eat in the club house and the staff in the pro shop was very welcoming"
Picture
The course is a superb 18-hole flat semi-links, with a good mix of traditional links and heathland terrain, set in beautiful surroundings with splendid views of Carlingford Lough, Slieve Foy and the Mourne mountains. The Golf Club was founded in 1896 by the London & North Western Railway Company and is steeped in interesting golfing history, including being one of the ten founding members of the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1900.
